NASA – Stennis Space Center Renovations (196)

Our contract included a new metal building addition which was approximately 1,000 s.f. for the administration offices, as well as the addition of an interior 1,000 s.f. structural steel mezzanine with a non-composite floor slab. The mezzanine was laid out to accommodate new office and storage areas. The new metal building addition required the installation of a TPO roof. This area was in the back of the existing facility and was used for new administration offices including a new kitchen-break room facility. CCI performed the majority of the demolition on site, some of the items were: saw-cutting and removing asphalt and concrete slab, and removing the metal sheathing on the existing metal building. The existing metal panels were removed so a new three thick insulated metal panel system could be installed. A new mechanical system which included a new boiler and new air handling units was installed. A New emergency generator was also installed. CCI installed major floor slab reinforcement so the new 12 inch thick floor slab would be able to support the new high density filing systems. CCI installed doors and hardware, toilet partitions and accessories as well as built a structural steel mechanical shack and smoking area. CCI subcontracted out the electrical and mechanical portion of the contract.
