C. National Guard Readiness Center in Decatur, AL

This project was completed for the Alabama National Guard. It consisted of removing all the office furniture in the existing 34,185 SF building and storing it until project completion.

While the building was empty, an extensive renovation was to be completed. This consisted of new individual cooling and heating cassettes with individual controlling systems, a new fully automated fire sprinkler, new fire alarm and new finishes to be applied to the structure. A new galaxy system was also added to assist in the ability of securing and monitoring the facility. New occupancy sensors for lighting and atmospheric conditioning were included in this renovation.  Existing toilet facilities were demolished and a new battery of toilet facilities for men and women were added that included new showering facilities.

A new 5,700 SF addition was added for administrative use. This addition has all the modern energy efficient doors and windows with the occupancy sensors to assist in the energy savings for new buildings. The project site work consisted of new parking lots, new exterior lighting packages and a new entrance installed for their convoys to enter and exit the site in a timely easier fashion than the existing site. Once the project was completed the furniture had to be cleaned and moved back into individual office spaces for the new assigned force to be able to occupy and fully function, deploy platoons to ready active duty assignments.
